About us
Neighbours keeping neighbours in Brighton.
We are a coalition of Brighton residents and community groups who have pledged to keep our refugee friends and neighbours in our city.
Why we came together
The Home Office plans to close the Brighton hotel where families and single women seeking asylum have been living, and to move them to unknown destinations across the UK.
The people living there have made Brighton their home. Children go to school here, babies have been born here, and people have made friends and volunteered in our community. We came together to make sure they can stay.
[Edit me: when and how the coalition started, e.g. “We formed in [MONTH 2026] after news of the hotel closure broke.”]
What we’re working for
Keep our neighbours here
No one who has made a home in Brighton should be scattered across the country against their will.
Good, safe housing
Our city, with all its empty investment properties and AirBnBs, cannot be too “rich” to shelter those who have nothing.
A welcoming city
Standing together against isolation and the far right, so everyone seeking sanctuary is safe here.
